Closing Ceremony of 4th Edition Leadership Training for Talitha Kum Leaders

The closing ceremony of the 4th leadership training took place online on June 28, 2024. It was a great joy that 21 leaders from 16 countries graduated during the ceremony. One of Talitha Kum’s internal priorities is the formation of leaders to strengthen and develop leadership skills in networking, advocacy, communication, prevention, and accompaniment of survivors and people at risk.

Sr. Patricia Murray, the Executive Secretary of the UISG, stated in her message to the group, “The formation program balances the different kinds of knowledge that you need in a situation that is drastically changing…. This course gives you a wide background and development of skills and competencies.

Sr. Anne Victory, HM from USA, the 2024 SATA laureate for the Servant Leadership Award, in her keynote speech, summarized her experiences of collaborative efforts. She encouraged the graduates “to go forth with your new knowledge and skills, and to use them in a spirit of service as did Jesus.”

Sr. Dhayalini shared her testimony “This course helped us to analyze our personal calling – a call within a call- and the importance of empathy, active listening, and empowerment to cultivate accompanying leadership skills.”  Sr. Nadine Rasmata shared, “I acquired tools that today make me a woman of compassion." Renaude Grégoire presented the group project action plan for prevention from January to April 2024, in collaboration with Canada and French-speaking countries in Africa.

The event was highlighted with the handing of the certificate of completion of the 4th Edition course in partnership with the Pontifical University Antonianum (Rome) and Tangaza College (Kenya). The evaluation result was also presented by Mr. Ivan and Mrs. Marion. The formation team gave their short messages led by Stefano, Ivan, Sr. Angela, Marion, Br. Jonas and Sr. Abby.

At the end of the ceremony, Sr. Abby Avelino announced that the selection of candidates for the 5th edition (English and Spanish) will be done soon. We thank all the formators, partners, and participants for the success of this course. The graduates continue their commitment to journeying together in the mission and vision of Talitha Kum with compassion in action!

Congratulations to all TK Leaders!
