Walking in Dignity: News from Peru

As members of the Kawsay Network – Peru, the Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul, and those responsible for the Hope Without Borders Project, we want to express our heartfelt thanks for your support through the Walking in Dignity app. Your contributions have made a meaningful difference in the lives of the women survivors who pass through our care. Thank you for helping us raise and sustain hope for the most vulnerable, allowing them to reintegrate into their families and society. With your blessing and continued support, we will keep empowering these women.

The women we welcome are primarily of Venezuelan and Colombian nationality. Unfortunately, the current political situation in Venezuela has delayed their return, as there is no Venezuelan Embassy in Peru.

One of the women we support has resumed her studies to complete secondary school, aiming to pursue a technical career to provide for her one-and-a-half-year-old child. Through God's blessing, these women receive materials for entrepreneurship and gain access to jobs to support their families in Venezuela. In addition, we have implemented a mini-gym, computer, and baking workshops to help them strengthen their self-esteem and foster hope. These activities empower them to set and achieve new goals, giving them the confidence and security they need to move forward.

Thanks to the support and collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), we are also setting up a dedicated space to expand these activities.

Restoring dignity to those we serve is the mission God has entrusted to us. Together with Talitha Kum and Red Kawsay Perú, we will continue walking alongside these courageous women. On their behalf, we express our deepest gratitude to each of you. God bless you.
